Winners of the Göttingen Handel Competition announced

The Göttingen Handel Competition 2025 has come to a close. First prize went to the ensemble “La Mandorle” with Victoire Delnatte (oboe), Clotilde Sors (violin), Camille Sors (violoncello) and Élodie Brzustowski (theorbo, baroque guitar). The four French women impressed with music by George Frideric Handel and Robert de Visée as well as their own improvisation on the French children’s song “Nous n’irons plus au bois”. “La Mandorle” also won the audience prize.
The Bärenreiter Urtext Prize was awarded to the international ensemble “Les Fleurs du Bien” (photo: Alciro Theodoro da Silva): Jasmin Binde (soprano), Lin Ling (flute), Valeriia Kustitska (violin), Claudia Cecchinato (violoncello), Adam Riha (theorbo) and Veronika Sazonova (harpsichord). Jury member Marie Luise Maintz from Bärenreiter-Verlag was won over by the “dramaturgical and interpretative achievement with which the ensemble.
The “Music and Space” special award went to the German-Austrian Yara Ensemble.
