The Telemann Musical Works Edition presents important works from the composer’s extraordinarily extensive oeuvre in scholarly editions that make Telemann’s music accessible to both researchers and performers alike. In doing so, it gives appropriate coverage to all genres and creative periods of Telemann’s output.
Each volume contains a preface (for several years now bilingual, in German and English), which also provides detailed information on the performance practice of the respective works, facsimile reproductions of the source material and a critical report. Many volumes offer a separate edition of the texts set to music. The basso continuo realizations included in every volume as well as the instrumental parts accompanying the volumes of chamber music, are designed to enable performance, particularly valuable for university and college music classes.
