Brilliant Baroque ensembles
Announcement of winners and Bärenreiter Special Prizes at the Göttingen Handel Competition
The jury of the Göttingen Handel Competition, held as part of the International Handel Festival in Göttingen, has awarded the €5,000 prize of the Göttingen Handel Society jointly to two ensembles – the Duo Lucescuro (Britta Kähny, recorder, and Chun-Shih Lin, harpsichord) from Vienna and the ensemble Les Arcanes Baroques from The Hague.
The “Bärenreiter Urtext Prize” consisting of generous vouchers for sheet music was presented by Marie Luise Maintz (Bärenreiter · Alkor) who was also a member of the jury. This prize was shared by the Furore Ensemble — with Oksana Pinchuk (violin), Louisa Kaltenbach (cello), Sophia Hegewald (oboe), and Oksana Shnit (harpsichord) — and Les Arcanes Baroques: Kira Dove and Benjamin Lenzmeier (violin/viola), Andreu Gènova (cello), and Elias Tulchynsky (basso continuo and violin).
