The first time I encountered Bärenreiter editions was as a horn player.

For a complete recording of all the Mozart horn concertos in the 1980s, I drew on the New Mozart Edition – at last a fine, bound edition with a clear printing – how grateful I was to musicology for the new insights and the extensive research and to a publisher who makes such projects possible in the first place.
